Apple Boosts iPhone Addressable Market to 575 Million; Orange To Sell Phone In Africa, Switzerland, Austria

France Telecom s Orange unit today announced in a brief statement that it had cut a deal with Apple (AAPL) to sell the iPhone in Austria, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and Oranges African markets later this year.When added to other distribution announcements, that brings the total addressable market for the iPhone to 575 million people, Piper Jaffray s Gene Munster observed in a research note today.
