European Central Bank sells 30 tonnes of gold

Commodity Online reports: The European Central Bank (ECB) on Tuesday said it had sold 30 tonnes of gold, on top of 42 tonnes sold in late 2007 in conformity with the Central Bank Gold Agreement of 27 September 2004, which limits combined annual sales by E.U. central banks to 500 tonnes a year until 2009. The ECB, which announced in early December that it had just sold 42 tonnes of gold, said Tuesday that it was not its intention to sell more gold in the current year of the agreement, which begins and ends in late September. The ECB announced sales of 60 tonnes in the last agreement year....
