London steel futures roll to success on floor, U.S. listing planned

The London Metal Exchange (LME) launched floor steel futures trading on Monday. The Mediterranean steel contract saw trades at $995 and $1,005 a tonne and was last at $990/$1,000, while the Far East contract was last trading at $995. Steel billet contracts began trading in late Feburary on the London Metal Exchange s electronic brokerage system, Select, and by telephone. According to a WSJ article, the London Metal Exchange is planning to launch by year's end steel futures trading in the Americas.
