George Carlin (RIP) has/had a great bit about stuff :The average investor treats their stock portfolio like they do their stuff . We are good at collecting it/them, but not good at getting rid of them. We all have had stocks we are embrassed to have owned, forgot why we bought and held well beyond caring. The best investors just do this less. I would use my standard golf analogy about managing the bad shots, but Tiger Woods has destroyed the theory. He can hit awful shots and recover on the next one.
