TSX leaders and laggards for Q2

The S&P/TSX composite index rose just 0.1% in June, fininishing the second quarter at 10,374. While a weak performance from the resource segment of the market weighed heavily on the index return, financials returned 5.5% in June.In fact, financials had the highest positive contribution to the index price return in the second quarter, according to Chad McAlpine, quantitative analyst at RBC Capital Markets.
