Food inflation won't challenge Loblaw: Analyst

Inflation is not one of Loblaw Cos. Ltd. many challenges, according to Desjardins analyst Keith Howlett.Based on his recent review looking into the top-of-mind issue of food inflation, Mr. Howlett said Loblaw shares are unlikely to be affected by excalating food prices in the country. While food inflation has been very restrained to date in Canada, it may increase in the back half of 2008 as the escalation in the Canadian dollar is cycled, he said in a note to clients.
