U.S. equity index futures are quietly higher this morning. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures are up 34 points in pre-opening trade. Traders are waiting for news from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting today at 2:15 PM EDT. Consensus is that the Federal Reserve will maintain the Fed Fund rate at 2.00%. Markets will respond to the message delivered by the Fed at 2:15 PM. Maintaining the Fed Fund rate at 2.0% is a change in policy.
